Hi.

So I'm home from the first road trip of spring break, and I've got two days until it's back to the road for me. I can't help it. I'm a wanderer. ha!

Summary of Charlottesville w/ Derek:

Left Thursday night around 6 and began drive to Virginia. Around the 81 split, decided it would be fun to drive to Asheville and see Jamie and Nathaniel play. Spent time with John, Logan, Jamie, Lindsay, Laura Marie, etc. Very much enjoyed spontaneous trip, until realizing the next morning - while feeling a little (read: a lot) like shit - that we had gone quite a ways our of the way. Took 7 hours to get to Charlottesville on Friday - listened to Lou Reed. Derek is introduced to family. Head to Court Square Tavern for a drink. Get up to go to beach, but find ourselves in winter wonderland of snowy madness and decided to go to DC for the day instead. Are soul-forced into giving Buzzy a hand moving (ok, not that bad). Go to the Smithsonian where I almost lose Derek to the escalator. Walk around trying to find something to eat or a bar. Almost lose Derek to the police (after he threatened to jump the pizza guy walking down the street). Had dinner at over-priced Mexican restaurant with strangely different sister. Derek drove us back to Charlottesville while Em and myself slept. Disappoint Derek with my unwillingness to stay up when we got home. Veg the next morning until Rachel and the kids show up. Take walk around mall. Abandon Derek to go shopping with Mom. Family dinner at great Chinese place. Derek is officially adopted after showing ability to call us out on guilt trips. The two of us head to Miller's for a couple of beers and the possibility of music. Love it - Miller's that is. Get up the next morning to see Mom and Em off to DC, hit the road ourselves, 7 hours (and more Lou Reed) later arrive in Cleveland just in time to head to Tres Hermanos for a beer and Brickhouse for some pool.

...I can't wait to see what Thursday's trip to Indianapolis with the Thaggards has in store for us...
